Overview
Section titled “Overview”Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Xee resembles a 2’6” chimeric blend between a bird and rat, with the former’s general body structure and the latter’s face, musculature, all capped by a thick, trailing tail, like if you took a derpy velociraptor and coated them in fur. A single shell-tooth protrudes from her elongated snout (which affect her speech), and her large, yellow eyes are usually hidden behind glasses. A mane of soft, brown headfur covers her head and rolls down her neck, and also exists in a thick tuft at the end of her tail.
Genetic Mods
Section titled “Genetic Mods”Heavy gene modification/mutation of an otherwise unknown species (designated Yinglet)
Tech Mods

History
Section titled “History”It was always a crapshoot, but the pay was supposed to be good. NuGaia was looking for test subjects in its ongoing attempts to ‘splice’ using experimental DNA, discovered and located somewhere deep in the confines of the asteroid belt; whether it was originally from New Athens, or simply got caught into the belt’s gravitational pull from far away, the goal was simple: find proof of alien life by integrating it with humanity’s.
For Xee, the pay was REALLY good, given that she survived. She could even manage a life on the surface of Poli if she got lucky with the splice! After all, the eggheads all seemed certain their experiments would be successful, and who was she to doubt them?
But maybe she should’ve. The pain was wrenching, and the results were horrifying, and she was one of the lucky ones. Her body was spindly and awkward and she’d lost her ability to pronounce ‘th’ sounds. She had a circadian rhythm of 4 hour wake to 3 hour sleep that didn’t seem to respect day/night cycles. She’d lost 80% of her body mass! But oddly…her little grabby fingers were good for grasping, her body was remarkably maneuverable in zero-G, and…miraculously, her loose affiliation of belter co-workers didn’t seem to mind as long as she brought in salvage.
Though her payment was partially forfeit (turns out custom-made suits and a diet that can’t process wheat and desires shellfish are pricy things), Xee lives her life now wondering…what IS she? And what does that mean for life elsewhere?
Affiliation(s)
Section titled “Affiliation(s)”NuGaia Labs
Section titled “NuGaia Labs”A bio-tech research society stationed in the Parthenon that begs the question as to what life was, is, and may someday be out there in the vast cosmos. With humanity having made it to the stars and far beyond Sol, their work is to thoroughly research samples of ‘alien’ DNA, usually found in frozen space rocks or sometimes buried in the planets themselves, and study them thoroughly. Latest projects have been devoted to using ‘splicing’ in an attempt to introduce human genetics to these alien samples, or…hypothetically vice-versa, to see what they can discover about other life.
RecRunners
Section titled “RecRunners”People rarely join RecRunners by choice, and instead drift to it much like the refuse they find. Ships break, space projects fail, and one way or another, a lot of the junk winds up floating in the Outer System. With certain minerals and materials somewhat sparse in New Athens, anything that the salvagers of RecRunners can bring to the Parthenon is incredibly valuable. That said, living a life purely offworld, your resources determined by what you can purchase and maintain to get by, can be hellish. As such, one could consider them a collection of ‘have-nots’ who would, actually, very much love to afford living planetside…by force if necessary.
