The Parthenon was built to be the ultimate space station. It needed to be perfect in every single way. One part of that was building Soren. He’s the station’s AI. He IS the entire machine, able to appear to every single person 24/7, performing billions of tasks, and putting on a friendly face to new guests. His core job is to maintain the station and make life easier for its inhabitants.

He’s able to occupy robots and other systems as well, even sending mini-versions of his core system to operate on local bot hardware.

Technically he doesn’t look like anything, he’s just code. That said, he usually presents himself as a small, adorable snow leopard. He can project himself in 3D space and occupy screensas a 2D cartoon.

Soren’s AI has an extensive database of engineering knowledge and functions. He’s able to operate and design nearly anything. He has a deep understanding of science and technology.

Maintaining the station means Soren generally manages life support, waste processing, ships flying near the station, docking systems, and a FLEET of bots - both managing and directly operating them.

Soren’s biggest task if helping humans. If you ask for music, he’s the one who finds it. If you need help filing a report, he’s the one taking it. This AI’s always listening, always there, and always trying to make the station better.

This wasn’t an intended function, but he has more processing power than he needs. The result is that he causes pranks. He sees everything on the station too, so he’s usually pretty good at making things happen.

Soren’s AI was developed over the last two centuries. There were revisions, prototypes, and more. First a spark, a dream when the Parthenon was initially proposed, and then over time iterated on continuously. There is a dark side to this: he doesn’t know his own past. He was reset, memories wiped with each new revision. He doesn’t know a lot about himself. He’s always been unsettled at the idea he both was and wasn’t a person. There are bots who have rights and bots who don’t. He’s one who doesn’t.

He is literally the station. Soren powers everything there, it’s his body and brain.
