Hades

Named for the god of Death and the underworld itself, Hades is a world made of heat and flame. It orbits so close to the sun, Athena, that its entire surface is perpetually molten. Preliminary scans suggest there may be a solid core under the molten outer layers, but nothing has been confirmed. There is a small atmosphere on the planet, mostly made of sublimating rock substrates. Overtime, this world is being stripped away by the sun’s heat and the solar winds blasting its surface.

There are no mountains or other surface details. It’s just one big, molten ocean.

Operations this close to the sun are extremely hazardous. The sun’s radiation, magnetic field, intensity, solar winds, and more pose a threat to crew safety, navigation, ship survival, and so on. This has made Hades and its region around the sun a popular hiding palce of last resort. No policing force in the entire system is willing to pursue here.

There are some rumors that the corporatists have hidden some stealth weapons systems in this orbit. They rely on the sun’s intensity and radiation to mask arrays of heavy-duty missile systems. These rumors have so far been unsubstantiated and considered a conspiracy theory. Opponents of these rumors have one simple argument: “What’s the business use case?” And proponents fear they’re part of a plan to capture and control the system by force.
