She’s the cute one sitting down.

Overview

Luna is something rare in this world. She’s the girl who wasn’t fucked up by the system. Her parents are corporatists, but she doesn’t have the ego or the demanding need to climb the company ladder. She cares for the poor and less fortunate. In an utterly broken universe, Luna still believes humanity can do better.

With her parents support, she set off on her own into the system. She didn’t know exactly what she wanted to spend her life on and her parents wanted her to find out for herself. They’ve financed her journey into New Athens and the surrounding space. She’s been free to wander, it hasn’t always been a good thing, horrors linger here.

For the time being, she’s acting as a counselor or a social worker. Helping people find a better way through life. She’s joined the pack and is slowly lurning from Ellie and Bryn about the struggles and paths to happiness.

Appearance

Luna is a white wolf girl, with the tail, digitigrade legs, and all. She’s friendly, warm, and always smiling or wagging her tail. She tries to dress minimally to keep her fur exposed, to make it easier for people to cuddle her. She’s embraced some ideas about being a living therapy dog.

Her clothes are generally loose fitting, and a little up-market. She does try to buy from actual good-businesses at least.

Luna has a custom gene-line made just for her. It’s one of the few big splurges of wealth she’s gone through. She wanted to really embrace the rest of the pack in their canine nature and it’s worked well for her. Her fur is long, soft, and shiny white. Even at night she almost seems like a ghost in the darkness. Her eyes have a slight golden hue. Her senses have all been enhanced, she has the best possible balance of musculature and agility. Unlike the others, her sense of taste wasn’t disrupted by the gene line.

Pack-Com Unit - Custom

A stipulation from Luna’s parents. When she joined the pack, they would finance things, but her pack-com would have some special features they’d hand-chosen. There would be the full comms system, system hardening, built in databases, an AI assistant, an emergency isolation/shutdown system, and more importantly an emergency beacon. No matter she she was, they wanted to have the ability to find and rescue her - or more realistically send a private army to do it. They mean well, but they worried about who their daughter was working with.

Her parents paid for the gene therapy and the following surgeries. They made some additional edits without her knowing. It was for her own good.

History

Luna was born to a wealthy family. Her parents always gave her the best in life, but they didn’t spoil her. She was raised on good morals. They told her there were horrors in the world. Every night she slept, the fact that she had a blanket was a luxury in its own right. They live in a world full of horrors and it’s possible to stumble and land at the bottom far more easily tahn to rise to the top. Be kind and good to people, because we all rely on kindness ourselves.

Their teachings resonated, but Luna was also a willful girl. On the one hand, she made it her problem to solve: to end the universe’s suffering. On the other, she also decided she needed to see it first-hand before she could dream of fixing it. Honestly, it’s an impossible dream, but a dream her parents indulged in.

She’s too young to understand and too sheltered, even by them. Her teachers sugar coated history and hid the darkness. To her, everything has a logical cause and a solution. Some measure of communicating, working, talking, and even money can make their struggles end. In many caes, that can even be true, but not every case.

At 17, Luna needed to see for herself. Her teachers weren’t giving her answers and her parents weren’t ready to just come out and say it. It took work and wearing them down, but they finally agreed on her little voyage. She’d wander around the New Athens system. She’d be well financed, maintain regular contact, and see at least a part of the world.

It’s no surprise her first stop was the Parthenon and then onto Poli. Her parents tried to steer her into safer spaces. Even Calypso wasn’t necessarily out of the question.

Within her first year in-system, she’d found Bryn and Ellie. She soon joined their pack. Suddenly her education was running away from her and her parents’ expectations. She was seeing and learning about things they’d never prepared her for.

At least Bryn managed to tame her experiences.. somewhat.

Currently she’s stand-by crew for the Tachi, called in when trauma victims need additional support.

The Tachi

A relatively new Martian Corvette and legitimate salvage. The Tachi is a mercenary ship, typically sent on missions for snatch and grabs or occasionally an assassination. It's state of the art armaments and some modifications make it a tough little ship in a system full of pirates.
